Looking through the Lens of Luke

LUKE has always been my favorite of the 4 Gospels. He is quite the storyteller & includes so many stories and teachings of Jesus that Matthew, Mark and John leave out for different reasons. Luke seems to have a big heart for those who struggle and those who have been broken by this life.

We are currently in "Year C" of the New Common Lectionary and the Gospel for "Year C" is primarily Luke's Gospel. So I have decided to focus on the Gospel Lessons from June - September, looking for Life Lessons to be Learned. As we move through Luke there will be ample opportunities to explore different aspects of Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, a book by Bishop Robert Schnase that is guiding much of our planning and direction this year.

I hope that you will join me for as many "legs" of this journey as possible. Your comments and questions and suggestions contribute much to my learning. For that - and for each of you - I am grateful.
