Seven Last Words

Lenten Sermon Series

in the Traditional Worship Services


 

Consider this an invitation to join us in Traditional Worship during the season of Lent as we contemplate the "7 Last Words" of Jesus from the Cross.  We will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 22, and  continue through Palm/Passion Sunday, April 1.  In the Kenny Rogers song "The Gambler" is the line ... "And in his final words I found an ace that I could keep."  As we recollect the last words of our Lord from the Cross may we find anew the One who blesses and keeps us. 

Traditional Worship meets on  Sundays at 8:30 and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary.

High School & College Graduate Recognition Sunday

This year's Graduate Sunday will be May 20. We will honor all graduates (High School, College, Post-Grad) at the two eleven o'clock services. If you are a graduate or the parent of a graduate, please email Brett at brett.hillesheim@mountainparkumc.org with the name, school graduating from and degree being received. We will host a breakfast at 9:30 am in the Youth Room for all high school graduates. Please RSVP Brett for breakfast by May 10.


Spaghetti Dinner and Stone Mountain Barbershop Quartet Concert

Are you looking for an afternoon of fun, filled with music and great food? Then you don't want to miss the United Methodist Men's Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, June 2. The dinner will take place in the Family Life Center between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:30 pm.  There will be take-out containers available.  Proceeds will be used for scholarships, devotionals for our troops and contributions to other organizations and events.
