Heaven's Helpers
If you are handy with a hammer or productive with a paint brush, you just might just be a likely candidate for Heaven's Helpers. This ministry, a spin-off of the Project Extend program, is designed to serve eligible MPUMC members and the elderly in the surrounding community who have the ability to live independently but whose lifestyles are threatened when they encounter home repairs that they cannot afford.
Team members perform repairs at no cost to qualified homeowners. For example, Heaven's Helpers constructed a ramp so that an 81-year-old could have easier access to her home. The group also lends a helping hand for families utilizing the services of the Lilburn Coop.
You don't need to be a master carpenter to be a part of Heaven's Helpers. You just need a willing spirit and the ability to supply a bit of elbow grease to tackle repair projects. This ministry is another example of how you can participate in mission outreach projects right here in your own hometown. The projects completed may seem simple, but they have a profound impact on those on the receiving end. |
