S.P.U.D.S.

A little seed of an idea, planted and nurtured at MPUMC resulted in the blossoming of Sharing Produce Under Divine Supervision -- better known as SPUDS. SPUDS’ primary mission is to provide fresh produce, in this case potatoes, for the Lilburn Cooperative Ministry.  

This past year, the SPUDS group expanded their potato repertoire from white potatoes to also include sweet potatoes. While the crop encountered a rain deficit, the SPUDS farmers were able to successfully harvest 1,200 pounds of white potatoes and 2,000 pounds of sweet potatoes. As a result, Lilburn Coop clients were able to enjoy fresh-from-the-field produce as part of their assistance.
