A new outreach effort, Family Promise is committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence. This is done by helping provide safe shelter, meals, and support services for homeless families and through programs designed to address the underlying causes of homelessness. MPUMC now has 50 volunteers trained to support this program but more are needed.

MPUMC has already hosted several  families during the past year. As one volunteer for the program noted when the first family was hosted at our church. “It’s the easiest thing that I’ve ever done for God!”   As you see the despair around you, you can be a part of helping families get back on their feet -- whether you assist in preparing a meal, transporting family members or staying the night with the family at the church, there are plenty of opportunities to become involved.  If you would like to learn more about this ministry, please visit www.familypromisegwinnett.org.
